Tattoo styles
The tattooing is rather ancient art. Though there are those who say it may not be called as art. But, there are also those who state that it is an art as it is. And those are right as the tattooing has its broad history and dogmas. For example there are a number of rules about the process of tattooing and the tattoo-masters follow those rules in order their masterpieces to be perfect. There are certain rules about the colour that should be used, the place where a certain tattoo should be patterned on and the rules about taking care about tattoo in order it remains as bright as it is.
So, the tattooing is an art and like any art it has its peculiar styles that distinct one from another. There are styles peculiar for certain cultures, or styles that appeared as a result of peculiarities of images or their patterning. The custom tattoo is the most common style. Those are original tattoos that remained as it was at the very beginning. Those are tattoos of one or two colours without any shades. Usually those are images of hearts, snakes, knives and other common images.
The Japanese tattoo may be considered as the most colourful and difficult style of tattoo as those usually the tattoo of variety of symbols and images. The culture of Japanese tattoo started with Yakudza and geishas. Yakudza used the tattoo not only as distinctive mark but also as coding of certain information. Those were not just marks on a body but a history of a person's life or set of his believes. The dragons and hieroglyphs are also the tattoos of Japanese style. Though, those are common for European people. They have hieroglyphs on their bodies as messages or amulets for luck.
The black and white tattoo style is tattoo without any other colours except black and white. Those are distinctive by a variety of shades. By means of blending those of those colours the tattoo-masters create three-dimensional images. There are no restrictions as for images used for these tattoos. It may be any image a person likes. The idea of black and white tattoo is to create beautiful image by means of only two colours and shades of those.
Another style of tattoo popular nowadays is a style of animal tattoo. Those are tattoo the images of which contain images of different animals. The meaning of such tattoo depends on the meaning an animal has. People have a wolf on their body as a symbol of per-se life, or cats like a symbol of self-will. In most cases people have on their bodies the tattoos of wild animals. It is a rare tattoo with an image of domestic animal. Common is the tattoo of horses, Pegasus and unicorns.
The ethnic tattoos are usually the tattoos of no particular meaning. Those are simply the ornaments typical for one or another culture or nation. Such ornaments are usually patterned on fore-shoulders of loins of people. Those are strictly decorating tattoos as the ornament is created by tattoo-master. That ornament contains no symbols and so no hidden meaning. There are only lines twisted and bended in the way so it looked beautiful and emphasised the beauty of one's body.
